Excerpts from Perfume's Triangle Tour are up on Youtube- OMG OMG OMG! Download Download Download! I want to see the whole thing so badly but it's like 40 quid plus shipping T_T
Anywayz:

01. Take Off/Night Flight

Eeek! The opening bit was amazing but strangely, though, they didn't look that animated during Night Flight (maybe just nerves? you can't blame them- that arena is Huge with a capital H)

02. Electro World/Dream Fighter

Same as before with the animation thing- but after watching for a second time I realised that they were actually quite emotional during these performances just not doing the over-the-top thing. It's more natural ^_^

03. Love The World/MC 1

Kawaii! Kashiyuka's "PINGGG~~" was so cute, lol ('ping' on the cute scale, infact!)
I didn't get much from what they were saying, obviously apart from the usual good evenings, thank you's and introductions, but I did get that A-chan was saying "sugoi" (great) a lot. I kind of thought that she was talking about how great performing in front of that audience made her feel...?
I kind of wish they hadn't got those two major singles out of the way already, though. They felt a bit rushed.

04. MC2/Zero Gravity/Macaroni

Lovely performances. I now really like 'Zero Gravity', lol. So much for it being 'totally un-listenable'.
One thing I have noticed about these performances is that Kashi seems slightly more animated- and Nocchi slightly less so. But maybe it's because there are less uber close-ups of Nocchi and more of the other two. The camera people who filmed 'Boudoukan' had a bit of a Nocchi crush, lol.

05. Secret Secret/Computer City
(notice the alliteration?! lol)

SS was a bit boring, somehow, but the transition between it and CC was soooo cool. You could hear the audience start screaming really loudly when they realised what was happening.
CC was so cute ^_^ You can see how much better the dances have got.
I loved how smiley they were.

06. I Still Love You/MC/One Room Disco

Love the I Still Love You dance. They do cool things with their feet xD
I love A-chan's call and responses with the audience, it must have felt really inspiring to be there.
One Room Disco was amazing- because they look so happy. It really lifts your spirits to watch this if you're feeling down.

07. Jenny Ha Gokigen na Name (or however it's spelt)/MC/ Chocolate Disco

These performances were amazing. The girls were really energetic and so was the audience. The MC was really exciting with the constant beat in the background and it was great how the audience really got into it- especially the 'chocola-e-to DISCO!' bit. I know if I'd been there I would have been screaming my head off.
The actual performance of CD was a bit disappointing though. Maybe it was because A-chan was too out of breath to encourage the audience after a-while.

08. Polyrhythm/Puppy Love
(again with alliteration ^_^)

Amazing. What more can I say?- Other than I REALLY WANT TO BUY THIS- ARRGG!
I hope some kind, helpful person posts the rest of the performances on Youtube.
From what I've seen so far, this was an energetic/moving/astounding/amazing-perfume-live concert; the huge venue was a new experience for the girls and they rose to the occasion perfectly.

Kashi Explained

Hobby --> Nails, playing with the pet hamsters, photography (own a single-lens reflex camera). I went to take pictures of cherry blossoms the other day. I am attracted to vivid colors of nature like the blue of the sky or the sea, and, on the other hand, to the atmosphere of a deserted town.
Like --> Rice, nori. So, I am most happy when I have an onigiri.
Movies --> I like the nuances of French movies, heart warming romantic movies, and dance movies, a kind of movies that give you a feeling of vivid colors (laugh). I have a peculiar taste, so I look around from corner to corner in a rental shop.
TV --> The show I always wanted to appear is Mathew's (Best Hit) TV.
Fashion --> Modo-kei (Mode style) I hate loose or low-rise type clothes. I like a tight feeling. Colors must be red, black, gray, or denim. But my favorite ear muff colour is blue.
School Subjects --> Liked --> Art, Music, Japanese, Ethics. About Ethics- I scored 100 points on every exam. It is a good memory that my friends and I passed around and read Budda[2].
Disliked --> Maths and Science.
Describe yourself in 3 words --> Stubborn, Free, and Stoic.
Hiroshima --> For better or worse, it hasn't changed. If the buildings and views change, the atmosphere and the warmth of people don't change. If I go there I will feel at home. It is that kind of city. As to places, I like the view of the main street seen from Parco. Spring is the best time. They have Flower Festival.
Introduce yourself simply in Hiroshima dialect! --> I am shy and I can't talk to a person I don't know, so please talk to me.
What is your habit or words you often use? -->
I sleep on my right side. And when I curl up and sleep, I feel comfortable. If I sleep in a different way, when I wake up, I find myself sleeping in that way.

I rarely go to Karaoke ...

Overseas travel. I want to go to Germany. Techno music is strong there, and the second language I took at University was German.

I might be doing something related to photography, or working at a pet shop

When I was in the second grade. His name was Koudai. He was the hardest working student in my class, and he was studying hard, like the child in the drama 'Edison's Mother'. He was so cute. I didn't confess my love to him, and I didn't have any feelings that he was my boyfriend, but I was happy just being with him.
What is your ideal way of going on a date? -->
A kind of date in which you spend time leisurely, each of us taking photographs of favorite things. I am a kind of person who doesn't need conversations. I am totally fine with being silent. Oh, but I like to hear people talking.
What is your (personal) goal for the future? -->
I want to be more womanly, maybe. I will be 20 this year, so it's like you can't be just cute anymore. Personally, I want to publish a photo album (of pictures I took myself). As to Perfume, I want to participate in WIRE (techno fes).

I don't know what it is about this song.
I don't know who the guys are (although I think one is called Donghae, right?) but they're pretty hot. Especially the guy who wears a leather jacket and faded jeans in the second dance shot- I think he does the 'oh oh oh oh' part.
LOVE - Although not so sure about the sunglasses.
Anyway, the whole song is ridiculously catchy.
And no, I don't care if the lyrics are crap- I don't carrrrreeeeee *flails randomly*
This song is to amazing.
Partly it's the choreography. It's the perfect mix of hard and simple. So the hard bits make you go 'ooohhhh' but the simple bits are easy to remember. I don't why this is important, it just is. I guess it's because it makes the song more accessible to fans....?
Love the Superman poses at the beginning. They should have done that during the dance break, but maybe that would have been too much.
I also downloaded the Korean version of this song (because I'm cool like that)
It's not as awesome because the words don't sound as catchy but I can listen to it without having to watch the PV/losing all thought of anything else around me- with the Chinese/Original version I have to pay full attention to it. I can't explain why, I just have to.

It's Growing

My Wota love for Reina is growing....and growing. Sometimes I scare myself. But serioulsy, this girl is pretty much perfect. I want her hair, I want her earrings and her jacket and everything.

Sayumi is one of those touchy-feely people isn't she?

I don't like her, but she makes me laugh.

JunJun..... I like her, I like her alot. She even looks cute with her tounge sticking out.
I first noticed her in the Shouganai Yume Oibito PV. There's just one close up of her in the Dance Shot, where you can really see the emotion in her eyes. Apart from Gaki and Reina, I don't think the others really convey that much emotion in PVs.

I'm sorry but What. The. Fuck?

Here's what he said about the graduation:
"Based on seeing all of her [Koharu's] work so far, as a producer, I felt I wanted to let her have a solo career, so I decided to have her graduate. Having said that, she won't be making a singing debut or any other kind of debut right away, and some of the plans are still a bit rough, but Kusumi will continue to work hard for now, while privately taking various lessons. Her own hope is to be a model, so I think she'll be aiming towards a new direction, and taking new steps."

And:
"As for Kusumi, she was a bit puzzled at first, but she accepted it firmly, and as you can see from her comment, she decided to move on, and looks like she is hopeful for her new future."

WTF? I'm sure, that if I were Koharu, I'd be more than puzzled. I'm be fucking hysterical. Does this mean that Tsunku thinks Momsu is second best- that a solo career is the only alternative for promising super idols?
And if that's true, then what about Ai? She's got the powerful voice and the looks. But maybe it's because of Koharu's personality that Tsunku thinks she would go far in a solo career.
I think/hope that he's right....I mean, if Ai had some really awesome songs written for her then she could deifnitely do it- there's no denying that. But if that was the case, then so could Reina, or Gaki, or Eri.
OMG! What about a Reina and Koharu duo??!! Ahhhh! Awesome- You've got personality, looks and voice all rolled into one (well, two really) Waaarrrhhh!

I think there is something else going on here, like Koharu said to Tsunku that she wanted to go into Modelling and then he decided to graduate her. Surely, even as a producer, Tsunku couldn't graduate someone with no warning- with out giving a proper explanation? Surely, if he thought that the 'graduee' would go far in a solo career, he would organise a record deal for them?

Baaaaaby Cruising Love!

Lolz, this picture makes me laugh. It's so cute! xD Kashiyuka looks about the same as she does now- apart from the fringe thing. You don't realise, but her fringe actually makes her look much more mature, doesn't it? I wonder why. Nocchi looks waaaay younger in this picture, lol. Mainly because she's not as beautiful as she is now. There's the fringe thing again- I can see a fringe theme developing here. Her fringe is pretty similar now, just a bit less neat. Nocchi actually looks really un-Japanese (is there such a word?) here. It's quite scary, but in a pretty way of course. A-chan ends the fringe theme, lol. She actually looks really similar in this picture to how she looks now. She really hasn't changed much at all, which is a good thing- because she's very beautiful ^_^

I was wondering why the girls chose the name Perfume for their group and then I was wondering if they ever produced a magazine article called Perfume's Perfume (or something similar) about, well, the perfume that Perfume wear....you follow? Anyway, then (this is the amazing bit) I thought: Why don't Perfume produce their own perfume? It would be soooo cool. People would say "Oh, yes, I'm wearing Perfume!" (Get it?! xD)

I mean, can't you totally see this triangle:

Random Perfumation

Today, I suddenly realised that Nocchi's birthday is on the 20th of September- only 3 days after mine! I'm so happy ^_^ Silly, huh? I think my fandom of Perfume might be reaching the Wota stage. When I heard about this thing with Nocchi's birthday, I actually felt like we were more connected.

This scares me.

But it's true, I really do feel connected to her. I have the same hairstyle as her and, besides, she has double-jointed thumbs....

Just like me :P

On a much more important and exciting note, I have just read the latest news from Perfume City. Regarder:

"Since Triangle’s release, the album ranked #1 on its ORICON weekly chart with 211,000 first week sales. This surpassed their previous album, GAME, which sold 154,000 during the first week. Another Gold Disc album and another #1 for Perfume!"

I'm so happy for them *squeal* They must be on top of the world right now. ^_^
They also have recently started their new 3 month tour, performing in venues with around 1,200 to 17,000 seats. Apparently the tour is called Perfume Isosceles Right-Angled Tour (Perfume Second Tour 2009). Hmmm....not a very snappy title is it?
Anyway, here are the listings:

Wow! It's Buono!'s 8th single already! They churn them out pretty fast, huh? xD
The single is called 'Take it Easy', to be released 28/8/09. Airi is center for the first time, which is.....exciting? I guess I don't really care who's in center as long as Buono! (as a unit) stays the same. No new additions, please. Anywayz, the label is Pony Canyon as usual.

Random thoughts:
- Love their outfits, the shoes are awesome
- Lolz, I love Momo's reaction when she realises she left her bag on the bus. Although, if I was in her situation I'd be more likely to be going 'AHHHHH! Fuck! Shit! I'm gonna diiiieeeeee.....' *collapse*
- Airi is so cute when she's wobbling down those steps ^_^
- MIYA <3
- I really like how they say 'Ookina kuna type desu' for some reason. I think it's the way they say 'tyu-pu desu' And they pronounce the 'u' in 'desu', which is unusual.
- Airi is also really cute at the end when they run to the sea. She nearly falls over but in a really cute way xD

- I think it's the first time since Renai Rider, that I've positively liked Airi and Airi's voice. I always kinda like her but found her annoying at the same time. In my opinion she sings better in C-ute than in Buono! (Forever Love and Bye Bye Bye, FTW)

Ai-chin was the first J-pop singer I ever listened too. Period. In quite short space of time I managed to collect nearly all the songs she's ever written, including the ones she wrote under her old name 'LOVE' Anyway, that pretty much stopped with the release of her album 'Love PiECE'- I remember loving a song called Mirai Taxi and, of course, Frienger but that was about it. I just moved on to other music, I guess and left Ai behind, almost without noticing. I think I listened to a couple of previews from her most recent album 'Love Letter' but then I forgot about them. I guess it's just not my kind of music anymore......or so I thought until I came upon this:

Random thoughts:
- I love the way the piano keys look like they are moving on their own xD I don't know much about film-making, so this may be a very simple thing to do but to me, it's pretty awesome. I think it sets the tone for the whole video completely; you know as soon as it starts that it's going to be something different from Ai's previous vids.

This PV is very different to anything of her previous stuff. It's quite a dark song- not sad, particularly, like Daisuki Da Yo, just dark and quite freaky. And Ai is very made up in the video, which is also different from her old stuff. Her previous PV's nearly always showed Ai looking simple but beautiful and this is how I imagine her to be in real life. However, this song still follows the more mature sound that Ai has developed, both in music and in voice, since Rocket Sneaker. I love the English translation of the lyrics; 'Ferris wheel, Merry-go-Round, Ferris wheel, Merry-go-Round....'
I never stopped being a fan of Ai herself, just of her music but I guess you could say that this PV has converted me into a proper Ai-chin fan once again. I've gone through loads of different J-Pop and finally come back round to Ai again.

Perfumation ~August 09 Update~

(I have no idea what 'Perfumation' is by the way, it just sounded cool. I should totally call my next post of this type 'Your Daily Dose of Perfumation' or something xD)
Anyways, I have recently found some pretty funky videos;
First, we have NIGHT FLIGHT live in the Yoyogi National Gymnasium.

Finally I can learn the whole dance xD Awesome performance (Legs- OMG!) I think this was performed as an encore at the end of their DISCO! DISCO! DISCO! concert, so the actual song is a bit different from the album one: There are a couple of 'Have a/Make a nice flight' parts missing from the beginning and the twinkly bit right at the very end was also missing. As was the super edited bit at the end (Have a nice FLiIIgGHtt!) Still, this performance is pretty epic. I can, and do, watch it over and over again. The audience don't know how lucky they are- I swear, if I were one of them I wouldn't just be cheering, I'd be screaming xD....The dance is another work of pure genius, by MIKIKO probably, and I'm sure it will become another Perfume classic.
(And yes, I finally got round to working out how to upload videos- watch this space!)

I still love U PV:
This was on the DVD version of Triangle. Why didn't I get the LE Version?! Wait- Don't answer that. xD

I love this PV, it's simple (which I think is the best way to promote this song) and the girls look beautiful. The way it's filmed is really interesting too- I especially love the beginning.
It's really funny when they start laughing xD Kashiyuka is one of those people who have like spasms when they're trying not to laugh. Lolz. Good times.
On a more random note, I really like their eyeshadow. :P And the pale lipstick is really nice too (and no, there is no hidden meaning behind that- You pervs! xD) However like their clothes much more than the ones they wore on the triangle cover. Nocchi's is the nicest outfit I think, but I think a completley plain white dress on all of them would have been better.

Nocchi is just so incredibly gorgeous in this PV asjlakdjaflkj- I love the bit where she walks away from the camera and then slowly turns around again.

Random thoughts:
- You notice is says Take 5 on that thingy? Maybe that's part of the reason they start laughing so much. ^_^
- Kashiyuka's right eye (left to us) goes really weird when she laughs. xD

- I wonder what A-chan was doing at the end; she went really weird!

Oh by the way, for those who don't know (although I'm sure that's not many)
AKB48 is an 'all-female Japanese theater/idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. AKB48 currently consists of 48 members divided into three teams: Team A, Team K and Team B. Each team contains 16 members. Unlike other idol groups in Japan, AKB48 is theatre-based and has their own theatre in Akihabara (a district in Tokyo) where they perform once every weekday, and twice on both Saturday and Sunday. The theater is set up in on the 8th floor of Don Quixote.' Wikipedia is such a wealth of information xD

Here's the PV. It's kind of weird xD I can't understand what the hell they're talking about and since I have no idea who anyone is, it's kind of confusing. I think the general gist of it is that the groups of girls, or more likely Teams A,K, and B are planning a performance. There's a seemingly random super cool girl and a bitchy girl who has a horrible glare which she burdens on a girl with ginger-ish coloured hair who seems pretty much left out of the whole thing- until the end that is, when she arrives on stage even later than the others and becomes 'part of the team'

And I think this girl is the bitchy girl in the PV, although she looks really likeable in this photo. I felt kind of guilty after writing about her because apparently she graduated in February of this year (Woops). Apparently her name is Yuki Matsuoka, from Team B. You can find more information about her graduation here. I'm glad she got quite a big part in her last AKB48 single, even if it was a bitchy part! xD Her performance was really good, though.

Triangle Review

So, my copy of Perfume's latest arrived about a week ago. I'm only just getting round to reviewing it now because I needed time to digest how I felt about the album- to be honest, I'm still not entirely sure. I brought the Regular version on the grounds that it had a picture of the girls on the front, when the Limited just had a picture of a massive triangle splashed on it. Well, I'm now regretting my decision because the Limited has a much nicer booklet than my copy, which is filled with pictures of the girls looking either bored or just plain weird, and because the Limited has a very funky looking DVD. These things may sound trivial but if I'm going to spend a lot of money on an album, then I want it to look nice. However, I did get a really good deal from YesAsia; basically, if you buy two or more items over $30 (US) then your order is 'eligible for free International shipping' (scream) 'and one free mini Japan capsule toy'. Never being one to pass up a free gift I decided to buy DBSK's Share the World/We Are, because I really like both of the songs but mainly because the Save-A remix of Share the World is seriously cool.

Anyway, on to the review.

01. Take Off
Not sure about this, I liked it a first but then the way the numbers are pronounced is kind of annoying- Perfume are great at English, but for some reason this song doesn't do it for me.
Japanese numbering would have been much cooler. Also, there was no definite ending which was annoying. When a song is called 'Take Off' you expect it to end with a big explosion or something, or at least I do. I know that it's probably meant to be like an introduction before it launches into another song but if so then I would have chosen something like Dream Fighter to be next. Overall, not much of a take off, really. Although I can see that it would be awesome as a concert opening (like in the Boudukan concerts! ^_^)
Overall Rating: 3/10

02. Love the World
Awesome, but what do you expect? It is Love the World. And since this single was what catapulted Perfume to fame, it's appropriate to have it so near to the start of the album.
It's nice to have Album Quality sound, as well.
Overall Rating: 10/10

o3. Dream Fighter
I can't write about this song; it's just too epic. Why wasn't it a number 1 single?! Number 2 is good- but this song is better than that.
Overall Rating: 10/10 (Duh!)

04. Edge (Triangle Remix)
Hm. Not sure about this....The Triangle Remix is really good but it's not Edge anymore. I wish Nakata had just taken some of the new elements he added to the song, like the guitar sounds and the best part of the song, which is from around 2:17 till the beginning of the first chorus, and made a new song with them- instead of messing up Edge.
The end is annoying and kind of spoils the song because it just goes on for way too long. However, the more I listen to this song, the more I like it so I'm going to give it quite a high rating anyway xD
Overall Rating: 8/10

05. NIGHT FLIGHT
ZOMG! I love this song so much- it's so cool! *scream* I really like both the verses and the chorus AND the awesome instrumental part with the aeroplane sounds xD
The dance is also really good. I love how each girl puts a hand over their mouth during the chorus to represent talking into a speaker on an aeroplane or in an airport. The best part of the dance is definitely during the first verse (the 'guru guru tame no futari wa' bit- or something similar in Japan speak). This is the most like their older songs in terms of the vocal-coding-thingy.
Overall Rating: 10/10

06. Kiss and Music
Lolz, this is so cool. I especially love the Chorus- my favourite lines being 'DANCE, The Kiss and Music, Moguru oto Basement' The way they say 'Basement' is so cute. Even if I hated the rest of the song I would probably listen to it anyway- just for that part xD (Yeah, I'm weird like that. I can be quite obsessive about music!) The translation of the lyrics is awesome, in a slightly dodgy way:

The only bit that doesn't seem to me to fit properly is the part when it sounds like...like sandpaper being rubbed over something- or a similar strange noise like that. It's hard to describe xD but it's after the last chorus.
Overall Rating: 10/10

07. Zero Gravity
At first I couldn't listen to this song because of the way the harmonies are done. The high squeaky voice in the background (Kashiyuka's I'm guessing) seems to jar against the other voices. The melody of this song is also kind of boring and although it's not a short song, it seems to end quite quickly without much happening. The first couple of times I listened to this I kept on waiting for the melody to get more interesting- but it never did. What I don't understand is why Nakata computerised their voices so much that you often can't tell who's singing? Just when Perfume had finally become famous for the happy techno pop that they have always done too.
Still, I've recently realised that this song is great as background music and I've warmed to it much more.
Overall Rating: 6/10

08. I Still Love U
I love this track so much- ZOMG! It was definitely a right choice for a promotion song for the album. The verse is better, in a way, than in NIGHT FLIGHT, but not as catchy. One thing I've noticed as Perfume's career has progressed is that the verses to their songs have got better and better- starting at around the time of Polyrhythm (although admittedly Seventh Heaven wasn't that good verse wise) The only thing I have to say is about the dance is that it's a bit over the top. Too many puppy dog eyes! The only thing that could improve this song is if the vocals had been done the way they were in Dream Fighter. The chorus of I Still Love U sounds a bit thin and unemotional because of the way the vocals have been done. If you listen to Dream Fighter and then to this song, you'll see what I mean.
Overall Rating: 10/10

09. The Best Thing
Another awesome track. The only thing I have to say against this song is that it only has 2 verses, which are repeated again after the chorus (the same as in Chocolate Disco). So that it could be seen as a filler- I think it's too awesome for that but others may feel differently...? And I love the verses enough for it to not really matter. 10. Speed of Sound
Don't like this. It's annoying and boring and sounds cheap. The lyrics would have been cool if the melody didn't sound so trashy. And if Nakata hadn't made their voices all sound like exactly the same. However, I do quite like the beginning (up until 0:28 and then it gets really annoying- it's that part of the 'melody' that I particularly hate) and the way the girls say 'Speed of Sound' To be honest though, this isn't really a song. The lyrics are good but more spoken than sang and the beat of background music is to slow to make it an actual disco or dance track. It's more Trance than anything else x(
Overall Rating: 4/10

11. One Room Disco
It's a single- so it's very good and very Perfume-ish, which is what we love xD This single was another Number 1 for Perfume. However, I do find this song a little bit boring compared to some of their previous singles- you need to listen to it quite alot before it's full awesome-ness hits you! The strange crashing noises at the end are pretty funky though.
Overall Rating: 9/10

12. Negai (Album Mix)
I have only listened to this once all the way through. I like the new intro, but then the song comes in so suddenly that it might as well have not as been there. I also don't like how the beats in the background (from the original Negai) have been sped up in the opening of the song and then mixed with the new, slower, sounds of a Violin. It's annoying because the song seems peaceful but then the background beats throw it off. This remix of Negai makes the song sound soppy and destroys the lovely simplicity of the original song. However, I do like the ending, even though it seems a bit out of place. I have given this track quite a high rating because it's still Negai and I love Negai- I just wish Nakata had included the original song on the album, not this remix. It's not doing the original Negai, which is one of my favourite tracks ever from Perfume, any justice at all.
Overall Rating: 6/10

Anyway, in conclusion I would say that overall, I've really enjoyed this album. I can listen to every song, apart from Speed of Sound and enjoy them- and even that I can enjoy for a bit. Most of them I really love and they've quickly become special songs to me. I can't enjoy it as much as Game because of the vocal thing- but I expect I'll get over that. After all, it's still Perfume, right?
However, Triangle does feel a bit thin compared to Game because of the way Nakata has altered Perfume's vocals to a point where they sound almost stretched, but at least their best singles have been included. If the album included the the original b-sides (Edge and Negai) then it would have been even better. I also think that 23:30 could have been included as a bonus-track but oh well. Or maybe include the re-mixed version of Edge as a bonus-track...? That would have been cool. I recommend getting the LE version because of the DVD; but overall, just enjoy the Perfume!

Mano's Piano Party

So, I'm kind of late with this review because for some unfathomable reason the PV for Mano Erina's new single Sekai wa Sumer Party has been released like a month before the release date of the actual single.
QUE?
The only explanation I can think of is that UFA want to create even more of a hype around Mano than there already is. Which is fair enough, but I hope it doesn't damage her sales because people get bored of the single before it's even come out. Having said that, her last two major singles reached the 5th and 6th places on the Oricon Top 10- so it looks like she's here to stay.
Personally, I am definitely still going to buy this single. Since listening to it a couple of times I have completely fallen in love with it. I especially love the instrumental break and the dance (I'm actually hoping that they release a dance shot version with the single- which is kind of sad but oh well)
Mano's vocals have really improved too- it may be the Eggs (or whoever they are) doing the backing vocals, but Mano's voice sounds really nice. If you listen to Mano Piano and then to Sekai wa Summer Party it's really funny xD She really couldn't sing very well back then. It's great to see how she improves so much with every single. Also, although Mano's voice still has a slightly sharp edge to it she still has a fairly strong voice. It's not weak on the really high notes anymore, nor does it wobble all over the place. And that definitely earns her some credit!

Rant No.2- Sorry About This...

So....The previews for Perfume's new album 'Triangle' are out and.....WHAT?
I'm sorry, but what does Nakata think he's doing? Just when Perfume have gotten really famous in Japan for their happy, bouncy technopop Nakata turns them into...well, Capsule really; you can't even tell who's singing anymore. I'm not sure what other people think but, for me at least, it's not the same Perfume. I say congrats to them for sticking up with it (the translated article is at the bottom btw xD).
I'll definitely still buy this album to support Perfume- and I'm still excited, but more about the fact that I can hear the girls singing new songs than about the actual music behind their voices.

Is it just me, or is this country obsessed with age? It's ridiculous!
My birthday is at the beginning of the school year, in September, and because of this I've been getting loads of stick recently; One friend in particular keeps going "You're gonna be 16! YOU are gonna be SIXTEEN!" It's so annoying. And I know that when I am 16, people will be looking at me and going "What? She's 16?" So what if I'm quiet for my age?- maybe that's just how I want to be. I'm not like that with my friends, they should know.
Plus, it makes me feel terrible- like I'm massively under-achieving or something. Especially if I compare myself to the girls of BK or C-ute or even just the really sporty/clever people in my class. It shouldn't matter to me- I have my own life to live- but it does matter. And that's what annoys me so much about the whole age thing. It effects you and there's not much you can do about it.
Also, has anyone noticed how magazines are OBSESSED with how old people are? There was an article in my Mum's magazine the other day, entitled "I Never Thought I would...." and the readers responded with things like "Climb Mount Kilimanjaro at 50" or "Make a photo book at 70" or "Go to University and get a degree at 40".....It's so stupid! Those things are great what ever age you do them! I mean, I could understand it if it was something like; "I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at 50, after having breast cancer"- That would make sense. But instead, people are expected to behave in a certain way based on how old they are. It just goes to show what a nation of stereotypes we are.

Negai (last routine)

I have to say this last performance left me bowled over. Literally. It was amazing, Perfume really showed their emotion- you could even hear their real voices over the voice coder (they were still lip syncing, though- Nocchi kept on forgetting to put her microphone up to her mouth, lol)
I think Kasiyuka was what made me love this song as more than a b-side though. Before I thought of Negai as just that, a b-side and one that could never compare with the a-side, Dream Fighter. Kashiyuka has now changed my mind. For some reason, I've always labelled her as the most see-through of the group, which is totally unfair because she's not. I loved how natural she was in this performance- her eyes were shining- It was beautiful.

And finally I would like to share this awesome video of Edge with you. It was from Perfume's 2 day performance at the Budoukan.

I also found this one which seems to be just be repeats of the same dance scenes and a couple of clips from the CM but it looks pretty masterful so maybe it's a preview of the PV to come? So far I really like the song xD It looks like Perfume are set to produce another addictive one.

I'm actually really pissed off with iTunes at the moment because they deleted all of Buono!'s songs. You would think that because Buono! are performing in Stockholm this May they would make an extra effort to give them more publicity but apparently not. They also have Ayumi Hamasaki and BoA, but again, no songs. They do, however, have Berryz Koubou and C-ute on there- but only their latest singles. They used to have nearly all their songs and albums.
Even so, they do have a huge list of Artists. I'm not sure if many of them are that popular in Japan (they don't seem to have any other really big groups apart from Hello!Project) but I did find Capsule on there. I've never listened to Capsule before but after hearing that their (or is it just her?) songs are written by Yasutaka Nakata who also produces Perfume's songs, I became interested. Although I was a bit reluctant at first because I didn't realise how different Capsule is to Perfume- I wanted to remain a devout Perfume fan!
There is also an interesting group called A-bee on the iTunes UK, which is classed as 'electronic pop' and seems a bit like Perfume and Capsule combined- just not as good.

*Edit- I just read the article on Nakata Yasutaka and discovered he is the second half of Capsule. I'm just to lazy to change what I wrote.

Buono! Rock the Music Scene

You have to agree that the title 'My Boy' is not inspiring. So I didn't have very high hopes for Buono!'s latest (to be released April 29th) but when I saw the 30 second CM I was bowled over. I think I watched it about 4 times in quick succession before having to force myself back to the real world. And the PV didn't let me down either- quite the opposite.
The theme of the PV is 'spy'. It opens showing a heart shaped box which says 'Buono! My Boy' on it (surprise surprise) and at first you assume it's just a cute way of presenting the title- but you'd be wrong. This box, or rather what's inside the box, is what Buono! (who are looking very dashing in their spy outfits) are trying to reach.
Lovely Miya looks....well, lovely, throughout the whole PV and I love the outfit she dances in. The main body of these outfits is black, which goes with the whole 'spy' theme of the PV but the rest is bright with some really cute accessories. Airi has a mini hat xD
The choreography is not the best I've ever seen- There was one bit that stood out but it's from around only 1:28 t0 1:31. This song is different from most H!P songs but I get the feeling that the choreographers didn't really embrace that when the came up with this dance. Still, taking into account that the girls have to sing live, it's probably better than a really head-bashing dance (which is what would suit this kind of music best)
I think in this PV, perhaps in the whole single, Miya has the best voice and looks. Her 'My Boy' part is pure win. I found my eyes drawn to her while she was dancing which, to me, is a sign of a good dancer. As a result, she makes me love the song, with it's fast beat, electric guitar and heart-stoppingly awesome chorus, even more.
I won't give the ending of the PV away if you haven't seen it yet- let's just say that it is very cute, very Buono-ish and for me rounds of what is, so far, a perfect a-side for Buono!'s latest single.

Squee! My love of the One Room Disco dance has just doubled- no, tripled!
Having previously said that this dance was unoriginal, I've now completely changed my mind.
There are a lot of new moves in there, especially during the verse- including ones that invovle doing cute leg-flicky-things....kawaii! Kashiyuka's first solo bit is so cute.

Love The World- a really fun dance and quite easy to learn.

Dream Fighter- also fun but I found it harder to learn. The opening moves are completely awesome though.

There is also a slow version of One Room Disco, if you're interested. It looks like it might be a bit too slow, but it could be useful for learning some of the moves that are too fast to see normally.

Arashi's latest single 'Believe' is out- The single was released on March 4th but I've never really taken an interest in them before, so I'm afraid this review (if you can call it that) is rather late. Never Again. This single is amazing. Just- WOW. I love it so much. The chorus is the best bit of all- I just- I can't explain it- just watch it!

SQDSASLFKJASAKJLDA!! I love this single so much! It's an incredibly cool, dancey, upbeat song. I love it. And it's really nice to see something more suited to the Berryz Koubou members.
I mean, I think they're all 16 or 17 now so it's only right that they should get something more mature then their previous singles. The silly songs like Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance didn't seem to suit them as much somehow.
Anyway, the vocals for this single are all excellent as usual, apart from Risako. I have nothing against Risako as a person (if that makes sense) it's just that I don't see why she's the main vocalist for this song or why she gets more centre time than the others. I mean, the last close-up of the whole PV was of her. Wut? Isn't Saki the captain of Berryz Koubou, if any one should have the last close-up, it's her

Speaking of the Captain, I would just like to say that her outfit is so cool! She even has a leopard print hat. Rock on!!
I really like Momo's outfit too. She looked amazing throughout the whole PV- the pink dress is awesome and I love the little jacket.
Miya's outfit is also really cool (love the green hoody)
In fact, almost all the outfits look good and mature at the same time, which is a first.
I haven't been following Berryz since the very beginning but to me this is their strongest single so far. It's a fresh, new sound for them and they pulled it off perfectly, even Risako.

Doesn't the word 'bye' look weird? I've never considered it before but, seriously, the more I type it the weirder it looks.....bye bye bye bye bye byebyebyebyebyebye!
Anyway, moving on.
There's been quite alot of negative reviews about this single but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. The vocals are really good. Maimi's leap at the end sounded amazing and the 'bye bye bye' parts are really addictive. The song as a whole is very catchy and fun to listen too- in fact the only criticisms I have with this song are;
1) it sounds a bit see-through next to, say, Berryz Koubou or Buono! I was hoping more for something along the lines of 'Forever Love' and 2) what is with that weird squeaky-beep thing they put in when Saki starts singing? It sounds pretty terrible. Saki's a good singer but it manages to ruin her voice completely. The 'noise' is also completely out of context with the rest of the song, it sounds like it was added in as an afterthought.

The PV seems like it was cobbled together at the last minute-
I would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't been for the dance break. It just failed. Completely. The girls looked like they didn't know what they were doing and it seemed like everyone was in the wrong place in the wrong time*

'Bye Bye Bye!' as a song on it's own is great, but the PV, which was basically just a dance shot, ruins it completely. C-ute went up a level in sophistication for the PV of 'Forever Love' but this PV was definitely a step backwards.

*Having recently watched the Dance Shot version I discovered that they cut off the best bit in the actual PV.

One Room Disco (Disco Disco Disco Disco!)

Perfume's 9th single (since Linear Motor Girl) and first major single of 2009, if you hadn' t guessed already, is called One Room Disco. It was released on the 25th of March- reaching the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Charts.

This single has been described as 'spring-like' which seems a bit strange to me. I mean, ok, the chorus is very light and bouncy but what does spring have to do with discos?
Still the PV was great and the dance was typically perfume-ish but with enough new moves added to make it interesting. That leg-sticking out thing they do is so cute!
All three of them are looking lovely as usual. There's just one thing- I've noticed that Nocchi always wear shorts- and A-chan always, always, always wears an almost knee-length dress. It really annoys me. Why can't A-chan show off her legs sometimes?
Still, complaints about dresses aside, I really love this song. The more I listen, the more I like. The intro was great- it reminded me a little bit of the opening of AkihabaLove and of GAME but lighter. The 'disuko' part is really addictive and sounds a lot like Chocolate Disco, which is always a good thing!

When you get a closer look at their outfits, you realise they're actually pretty horrible. The print and those frilly things combined is just....not good. A-chan has the frilly things on the back of her dress which makes it look like a snake is climbing down her back (or something equally disgusting.) Nocchi even has them on the back of her shorts- take a look.
Having said that, all three of them look very beautiful on this cover- and the little house thing is so cute it almost makes the outfits look ok. Almost. I can't forget those shorts though Nocchi, I'm sorry.
